Business Transition · Value-Driver Readiness

You built it on what's in your head.

I'm Monte Fisher. I created the Fisher Governance approach to answer one question for owners like you: before you hand it off or sell, what's quietly dragging your value down — and where does AI actually lift it? An independent, forensic read from someone who ran the controls inside large-scale operations, not a vendor selling software.

The value hides in the blind spots

The things a buyer marks you down for are rarely the things you're watching.

Most owners have decades of hard-won knowledge — and no one independent has ever looked at where that knowledge is trapped, which controls never really operated, or which risks nobody flagged. Large companies have whole assurance teams asking those questions. Most owner-run businesses have no one. That gap is exactly what gets a business marked down at sale, and exactly where I focus.

Knowledge that lives in one head

How much of "how it really works" is undocumented, or known only to a long-timer heading for the door? That's the number-one value-drag — and the most fixable.

Controls that only look like they work

Segregation of duties, records, data privacy, security exposure. The forensic question isn't "do you have a policy" — it's "would it hold up if someone had to prove it."

AI spend that hides the problem

Used well, AI captures knowledge and lifts value. Used carelessly, it just automates the blind spot. The difference is whether you governed it first.

How I work

Govern first, then fix or refer. I assess before you automate — so you're not paying to automate a broken process.

I'm independent. I don't sell governance software and I have no product to move, which means the analysis follows the evidence, not a sales motion. If a control is theater, I'll say so. If AI genuinely lifts your value, I'll show you where — and where hands-on implementation is the right next step, I connect you with trusted partners (referrals always disclosed). Big-firm discipline, without the big-firm disruption or the junior staff who've never run a real operation.

Start by finding your own blind spots

Free, anonymous, plain-language. Each gauge equips you with the questions to ask your own people — the ones that never seem to get answered.
